I was expecting a Total Reset by the Agency, but I suspect he ate a CarCan once back home.
We now know Kay K will have at least one child... who's going to be the father?

I think this is a really great DoubleDuck story, exciting, good ideas, beautiful artwork - but it is just that, more DD than PK... I had hoped the second part would be more from the "old" Duck Avenger's perspective and maybe also explain the question why today's Donald could not remember anything of this adventure. According to some fan theories he might have erased his memory after returning to his own time... But then there are the last page of the main story and the last page of the epilogue... and you will know what I mean when you've read it. Thank you Artibani for those feels. And because of this I think the story deserves to be the anniversary story.
- Spoiler:
As the other guy mentioned, he probably took one of those infamous Car-Can pills, or One sneaked a couple into his chamomile tea in order to make sure DD's knowledge of the events wouldn't result in any "accidental critical information blurts" occurring, hence resulting in a serious Temporal Paradox-type thing, or other weird thought bubbles throughout the DD Era in general. Like with the X-Transformer, DD sees it in the Agency's Lab, but never remarks on it even now, so I guess the entire time he was just assuming they found one of the undoubtedly many X-Transformers he's lost over the years (off-panel), & brought it back for further analysis. It would have been cleaner to show all that on-page instead of just letting us assume, but anyway. Regardless, it was indeed a great story, one absolutely worthy of being the 20th Anniversary Special, yeah. Interesting to note that Lyla's aware of One though, I wonder how that happened, especially considering how Banks of Time only recently confirmed/established that Lyla still wasn't aware of him - unless she said that on purpose? Hm. Anyway, minor detail, really. On the other hand, that whole thing with Kay-K asking about why she's disguised as a TV Reporter, that seemed like some kind of teaser-setup, didn't it? Or am I reading into that too deeply? Otherwise, my one real complaint would be the same as Neko-Chan's, really; It's a PK Anniversary Special, but they seem to have planned for this to be more of a DD story than a PK story from start to finish. Not a big deal though, & it does explain why they opted to go with the DD art style instead of the PK one, even though they did intermingle a slice of PK art here & there, which was great. Plus we got more hilarious PK comedy moments like "wow, he snores loudly" & "oh, I'm too fat for this grate....." ^^ On the ending & the Epilogue - holy fuck, the Villa Rosa thing, that was really one hell of a great way to tie everything together right there, damn you Artibani, YOU BASTARD! The Axel storyline's ending gave me serious flashbacks to this (& by-the-by it also explains why the Organization are so tough, trained former Servicemen/Cops/Spies etc. make for the best criminals after all); I guess we should have expected them to/figured they'd finally explain the assumed connection between "The Organization" & "The Organization", but it actually never came into my mind until Axel himself brought it up..... Lol.

I have my bets on the obvious guy, but if that's indeed the case, we'll never know, as it would be infringing on one of those "Unwritten Rules of the Disneyverse", so to speak. If it's not him, then we'll probably learn one day, assuming they ever let Kay-K retire, or they decide to end the DD series in favour of a reboot, or some other such thing.
One thing we can say for sure - it's not Axel Alpha. Definitely not... Or can we? Hm.
Also - X-Mickey is back! Whooo! Damn, they're on a roll. What's the bet MMMM is next?

| By the way, I don't remember DD stories mentioning The Division.
Also, I have some doubt on MM: X-Mickey is getting new stories while also getting reprinted in Legendary Collection, MM got its omnibus but still no new stories...
they might wanting to use it next year, though, as right now they have still PKNA 20th anniversary(god I feel old. I remember when I bought the #0 from my trusted news-stand. I'm actually feeling sad he closed shop years ago:( )

I think it was somewhere in the second half of the DD stories... but no guarantees, I read through these stories quite fast, just in time for the crossover

| (Tthe following post might be a bit of a rambling. Reader discretion advised.) - Spoiler:
Going into a crossover story like this is always a scary thing as a fan. On paper, it might sound awesome, but they might also be all hot air that serves no other purpose to the narrative other than being just a crossover. And especially with a series that sees only two new stories per year, things like this might be wasting an all-too valuable story on a pointless crossover.
Well, this sure as hell didn't go that route.
Artibani could have gone the easy route of utilizing different universes colliding. It could have been that simple (ironically enough). He could have ignored any sort of arc progression and world building. Instead he opted for the more complicated way of actually keeping everything in-universe all while actually building on the foundation, filling in some blanks where both PK and DD lore fit together and played an important part. Not only that, but it also utilized time travel in a sensible, non-contrived and easy to follow way, something that PK rarely manages to do.
Well done, Artibani! Well. Fucking. Done.
That is not to say that the story was perfect, the most glaring mistake being, as pointed out, that Lyla should have no knowledge on One, especially not in the past. Unles Artibani has some reeeeeeally crazy reason for this coming up in the future, but I sincerely doubt that. But other than that, it was really, really solid.
Yes, it might have been more of a DD story, but I have no quarrel with that. I mean, Donald in the present might have been in civilian and agent attire, but he's still PK too after all. So maybe it wasn't as much of a PK meets DD, as it was a Donald meets Donald. Also of note is that I haven't read that much of DD yet, still I didn't feel that posed a problem going into this story (didn't know of Axel Alpha, etc)
And that last page, it might just have been pure fan service for no other reason than being fan service, but if that didn't give you massive shivers while freaking the fuck out, chances are you probably are dead.
TL;DR - 5/5, would fangasm again. Also, I do hope we get something in the vein of this in about three years. Maybe Paperinik vs. Pikappa? Please?

| Pikappa is just another way to say Paperinik/PK, though Pikappa tends to refer more to PKNA Paperinik rather than the old school version, as I have observed. | |

Correct. I was intentionally a bit vague, but what I meant was that I'd like to see a "classic" Duck Avenger (as in non-PKNA) vs. PKNA Duck Avenger story in about 3 years, since 2019 would, much like 2016, be a a year worthy of a big special. 50th anniversary and all that...

| Only three weeks to go... and in the next PK Giant issue (Fragments of Autumn <3 ) there will be a short preview of the new story, so at least we'll be able to read some pages already at Lucca | |

| I was shocked to see your blog vanishing, great to see it back!
In the meantime here in Germany, the DD / Duck Avenger crossover has been published on the standard LTB (our Pikappa) in one issue, which marks, to my knowledge, the first appearance of the PKNA-Duck Avenger in the standard book series. Also there have been reprints of the LTB Premium issues that contain the PKNA issues that have been translated to German so far, if anyone has missed one.

| I never got around to read "Chronicle of a Return", as I was ridiculously busy with work. Are the links still up somewhere, now that the blog is down? I found an old version on WayBackMachine, but the snapshot from January is broken... | |

| So I finally caught up. As always, nice references. Feels almost like a showcase of old characters. And I like how they set it up so that the events of "The Parts and the Whole" can still happen. I always wondered about that, when Everett left earth at the end of PK2.
BTW: How did Omega/the Custodian manage to build a robot body for himself, when it took Everett and One so long (and using technology from ~150 years in the future) to build Odin Eidolon? Is his program so limited that it can fit into a lesser model? Or does he actually not inhabit Hecks per se, but merely remote-control it? After all, we did see him in One's old spot on the 151th floor in "Chronicle of a Return".
